O7 was a shot in the dark, one person’s belief that musicality could happen without trained players, without conventional instruments, with just strength and a dream. He made the instruments from scratch. He made many of us believe that musicality, dance, and joy are part of every human being. We can all make it if we just try hard enough. My wife and I signed up for the taster session…and now we’re hooked!! I can’t recommend the 07 drum project enough - this has been so much fun, playing in drumming group has always been a dream for me and now it’s a reality - Filipe is a great teacher, and breaks things down so it’s manageable - he challenges the group but no one is left behind. O7 Drum Project are amazing! We booked a group of around 25 performers to come and perform at our Annual Kingfisher Karnival event, they promised a loud, entertaining performance followed by an interactive session for others to give it a go, and wow did they deliver, it certainly drew the crowd in! How you get absolute beginners who have never drummed before to play a beat in sync and sounding amazing within 5 minuets is incredible. We look forward to having them back again next year, that's for sure.

All O7 Drum Project instruments are handmade by Filipe Henda from reclaimed water drainage pipes and simple design solutions that minimise materials and simplify the building process. The design was born out of necessity: without resources to buy new drums, Filipe Henda developed practical methods to build instruments that made the project possible and could still withstand professional use and performance.
