Based in Bedford, the O7 Drum Project delivers weekly drumming classes for those who want to learn, perform, and take part in O7 drumming, alongside bespoke workshops and team-building experiences for groups, companies, and organisations. Our drums are hand-built with bold, simple designs that fuse traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques. Rooted in Portuguese marching drums traditions, our rhythms and performances bring cultural heritage into a powerful contemporary setting.
Blending traditional techniques with original, resourceful solutions, the design is both practical and distinctive. O7 drums are crafted from cleaned and cut drainage pipes, paired with rope and standard drumheads, resulting in instruments that are unlike anything else on the market. The vision behind them is intentionally simple: to create drums that are easy to make, require as few resources as possible, and prioritise the reuse of materials wherever feasible.
